Flower:
5-petaled, fragrant clusters up to 5 inches. Male and female flowers on the same plant.
Leaves & Stems:
Lobed, toothed leaves (4–8 inches); young leaves hairy, mature leaves smooth. Stems smooth, reddish, with shredding bark on older growth.
Fruit:
Small berries (¼–½ inch), turn blue-black with frost, contain 1–6 seeds, sweeten after frost.
