Valor is an exceptionally sweet and juicy European plum that produces abundant crops of large, firm fruit with rich deep-purple flesh. This late-season variety is excellent for fresh eating right off the tree and also performs well in baking and cooking. The cultivar was developed in Canada at the Vineland research station.
The tree is self-fertile, though planting it with another European plum variety such as Stanley or Victory can improve both crop yield and fruit size.
Trees are two years old with a ½-inch trunk caliber and are grafted onto Krymsk 86 rootstock, reaching a mature height of approximately 12–15 feet.
